PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
As this is our tenth anniversary, we have increased all our major prizes and will also be increasing the value of the 20 nightly prizes. In addition to the nightly 3.4m Stessl tinny valued at $1300, there will also be a large esky drawn each night. We have had confirmation that Steve Starling, and hopefully Bushie, will once again be in attendance. I would also like to thank all of our sponsors who have once again supported us this year. The four Major sponsors from last year have all returned, being the Woodburn Evans Head RSL Club, Ballina Marineland, Jackoroo Campers and Casino Outdoor & Disposal. The local business Community have also dug deep and offered some very generous sponsorships. We will once again be running our ‘Shopper Docket’ draws and we encourage our entrants to support our local sponsors and give yourselves the chance of winning some great prizes. I wish to point out that there is a major change to the way that the major prizes are to be drawn, and I ask you all, to carefully read that section of the brochure. This change has been necessary to conform with the NSW Legislation.
The sub-committee organising the Mini Juniors Comp. have once again done a great job. There will be junior workshop, conducted by Starlo and NSW Fisheries, on Saturday and some fantastic prizes on offer on Sunday. NSW Fisheries researchers will once again be collecting important angling data, so please ensure that you accurately complete your Fishing Report Forms. This research helps fisheries evaluate your valuable fish stocks and also will give you the chance of winning some great prizes. To commemorate our tenth anniversary there will be anniversary footy style jumpers, polo shirts, beanies and stubby holders for sale. In conclusion, I would urge all entrants to lodge your applications early, as we have decided to limit the number of entrants. We have done this, as we feel that the site will only comfortably accommodate this number and it will also minimise the impact on fish stocks.
