How do I store my printed photo’s?
Preventing printed colours from fading depends largely on the storage environment. The Less images are exposed to the open air, the less likely they are to fade. To lengthen the life of your printed images and avoid fading:

  • Store images in albums, clear plastic folders, or glass frames in order to avoid exposing them to the open air. By doing this you can reduce the amount of fading from exposure to air and light.
  • Never store printed images in locations subject to high temperatures, high humidity, or direct sunlight. Store them at normal room temperature.
  • Avoid storing printed images outdoors or in locations subject to direct sunlight.
  • When storing printed images in pocket albums, insert the image all the way into the pocket. This will prevent photos developing yellow edges.
  • Do not use albums with self-adhesive pages to store images, since you will not able to remove them later on.
  • The 25 years light-fastness may not be achieved depending on storage conditions. The expressed number of years is the result of simulated tests conducted by Canon INC and is not guaranteed. This number of years does not apply for paper fading or durability. Allow ink to dry completely after printing and before storage. Store images in albums, clear plastic folders or glass frames to avoid exposure to open air. Never store printed images in locations subject to high temperatures, high humidity or direct sunlight. Store prints at normal room temperature.
